Chapter 480: Getting Prepared

When Yue Xin finished the bowl of herbal soup, she showed Lin Xuan Qi the bottom of the bowl and put it down onto the table.

Lin Xuan Qi shook his head with a sigh.

He wondered how Yue Xin would react if he told her the news that she would be someone’s mother soon.

There was still time to get her prepared so he glanced at her sister and said, "Yue Jie, supervise her to take the herbal soup every day and get her to be... to be more womanly.

He sighed and gave some incentive for her, "We can talk about the outing in the spring now since everyone is here."

That got her excited and she kept quiet about what had happened just now.

"Spring outing?" Yue Xin’s eyes opened wide and she got excited.

"Yes, spring outing. We’ve never gotten to have a trip in the good scenery for a very long time." Lin Xuan Qi said and he could see that Xue Cong and Yue Jie were also glad for it.

"We can go to the seaside again, or to the fields where there are a lot of flowers." Yue Xin gave some suggestions and he nodded to them.

The seaside was a great suggestion for him.

He could take the chance to have a look at the progress of the kelp if they went there.

But when he thought about how much more attractive viewing the flowers would be for them, he made his decision.

"The fields with flowers would be better. The seaside would be cold with chilling winds blowing during spring." Lin Xuan Qi said and the others nodded vigorously.

"That’s settled then." Liu Shi Shi said and glanced at Lin Xuan Qi.

Spring, flowers, loved ones, and wine, what other setting would be better than this to come up with good poetry.

It made her anticipate the spring outing very much.

Not even the spring festival happening next month was more attractive than it.

"Eat first, the dishes are getting cold." Xue Cong interjected and gestured at the dishes.

"You are right. I’m starving after all the hard work." Lin Xuan Qi said and he picked up his chopsticks to have some of the braised beef.

Xue Cong shook her head at him.

It seemed to her that he couldn’t just sit back and relax for a moment.

The businesses were doing well and the mansion was getting better every day.

She was able to have everything she wished for by now.

And so, she didn’t really understand why he was going on tinkering with another new line of business.

But she wasn’t the type to dare to question him or stop him from what he wanted to do.

Old Shao had informed him that the makeshift food cart was done.

He had nothing else on hand so he went over to Old Shao’s workshop right after lunch.

"We’ve made it according to your request." Old Shao stood proudly at the portable food cart and said.

He went on to introduce the different features of the food cart.

"Here is where you place the pot, and below it is where the firewood would go." He pointed to the side of the food cart where there was a compartment made with metal to insulate the other portions made of wood from the fire.

Next to it at the bottom was the compartment for putting the firewood.

The weight spread out at the bottom would make the food cart much easier to maneuver.

Then there was the compartment above to place the ingredients and other items.

And right at the top was the preparation counter.

"This is exactly what I wanted." Lin Xuan Qi said while he marveled at the finished work and he couldn’t wait to have the food cart out to sell the rice noodles and other dishes.

He was even having the idea that the food cart itself might be a business opportunity.

But he had so much on hand right now that he could only put it to the side for the moment.

"You can try it out and let us know if there’s anything we need to fix." Old Shao said and Lin Xuan Qi thought that it was a good idea.

He got a pot that was the right size to be placed to the side of the cart, and he started the fire.

The water boiled and he put in some rice noodles for them to cook.

Lin Xuan Qi didn’t know how to cook and that reminded him that he had to standardize everything for the franchise to work.

Which meant that he would have to get the information from Auntie Sue and come up with a handbook or something.

He sighed silently when he thought about it.

It seemed like there would always be more work for him.
