Chapter 875: The Rogue Liquor
Chapter 875: The Rogue Liquor
"Email?" Baijiu prompted calmly, trying to elicit more specific information.
"Text message," Grace retorted quickly, her tone firm.
"Encrypted?" Baijiu continued to ask, his eyes sharp.
"Of course." Grace answered without hesitation, as if it was a matter of course.
"Basically?" Baijiu suddenly added a seemingly inexplicable word with a subtle tone.
"What?" Grace was obviously stunned for a moment, not understanding what Baijiu's abrupt question meant.
Baijiu first uttered a slight, all-seeing sneer, then leisurely explained, "You just said that you 'basically' communicated online."
He accurately captured the word, which suggests that the contact was not purely online.
Grace showed a helpless smile on her face, trying to hide the embarrassment of being found out with a smile.
Seeing that she couldn't fool him any further, she had no choice but to bite the bullet and continue explaining: "Actually... we met once in Luxembourg."
"Where in Luxembourg? I want the exact location." Baijiu's tone became tough, like a judge interrogating a prisoner.
"There's a secret delivery point in a café in the center of Luxembourg. Inside the third storage compartment behind the bar is a manila envelope."
Grace finally confessed everything.
"What's in the envelope?" Baijiu pressed on.
"It's a one-way ticket to Abu Dhabi." Grace said, her eyes suddenly raised, looking meaningfully into Baijiu's eyes, "And..."
She paused slightly, as if observing Baijiu's reaction, "...a photo of you."
When the word "photo" came out of her mouth, Baijiu admitted that a cold, hair-raising feeling of horror instantly hit him.
He felt as if he had never been so naked and exposed to the enemy's sight.
Seeing Baijiu fall silent, Grace seemed to take the lead in the conversation: "I received instructions to follow you at the airport. They told me that you would be tracking another target."
"And the target not only had the key, but also four million worth of digital currency stored on a USB drive." Grace seemed to remember something and added, "Oh, and that USB drive is empty. I checked. It's useless."
She bit her lower lip subconsciously, revealing a hint of annoyance. "I can only get the full payment if I successfully deliver your half key to the final customer."
After being silent for a long time, Baijiu finally spoke slowly in a low voice: "That client...where does he want you to deliver the keys?"
"Venice." Grace answered neatly without any hesitation.
"It's a private party held at the Duke's Mansion, tomorrow night at midnight." Her eyes unconsciously drifted to the window, and Baijiu's gaze followed.
Baijiu half-closed his eyes, keenly capturing this detail, and tentatively asked, "Are you waiting for someone?"
He had noticed long ago that every time Grace answered a key question, she would subconsciously glance out the window, as if confirming something or waiting for a signal.
Grace's answer was unusually calm, and her aura subtly changed in an instant, as if the offensive and defensive positions between her and Baijiu had suddenly been reversed.
She explained slowly, "I saw your 'friends' at the airport in the corridor a few minutes ago."
Baijiu immediately understood who she was referring to - that group of "friends", as expected, were 100% the group of Vodka and Cava.
"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Baijiu asked with a smile, and it was hard to tell whether his tone was blame or ridicule.
"Why should I tell you?" Grace shrugged, looking nonchalant. "They're after you, not me. Why should I meddle in their business and cause trouble?"
She even looked Baijiu up and down and added, "Although you are indeed quite pretty, it's not enough to shake my mind and make me take risks for you."
She spoke the truth and pulled no punches.
Kava and his group rudely broke open the door of the room where Grace was previously interrogated.
Kava and vodka took the lead, especially Kava, whose desire to catch the liquor immediately had reached its peak.
He still can't let it go -
At the airport that day, they didn't learn the news until the liquor was about to fly to Italy. The moment they received the news, they were preparing to block the airport.
This infuriating memory was like a thorn in his heart.
He kicked the door open!
The moment the door opened, a pungent, sweet, and spicy strange smell suddenly rushed into his nostrils!
Immediately afterwards, a thick, blurring green smoke blew towards us!
"Cough cough cough!!" Vodka covered his mouth and coughed violently and loudly.
Kava immediately covered his mouth and nose with his hands. He quickly turned his eyes and scanned the situation in the room in a green mist.
The two policemen who were originally responsible for escorting Grace were lying on the ground with their fingers spread out, without a sound.
The room was empty and the target had long disappeared!
Kava didn't hesitate for a second. He immediately grabbed Vodka, who was still inhaling the poisonous mist and almost fainting. He turned around decisively and retreated in the direction they came from!
From his perspective, only Baijiu can pull off such a precise and ruthless technique!
It turned out that his guess was absolutely correct.
Baijiu was pulling Grace's wrist and moving quickly in the corridor.
When passing by a trash can, he threw two used gas masks into it with neat and clean movements.
Grace kept looking back, a glimmer of hope still lingering in her eyes.
She hoped that Kava and the others could break through the barrier of the poison gas and catch up.
She really didn't want to stay with Baijiu, a man who was even more terrifying than "Intelligence and Body".
"Don't look at it." Baijiu stopped her without even turning his head. "That kind of poison gas, even if you're as strong as a superhero like Captain America, you can only withstand it for three seconds at most."
His tone was filled with absolute confidence, as if he had everything under control. "After all, I'm not the kind of person who doesn't make thorough plans. Being unprepared makes me uneasy."
Baijiu pulled Grace from the corridor into the spacious reception hall, where a group of lawyers and their clients were talking or waiting.
Just when Baijiu was about to lead her quickly through the crowd, something strange happened!
Grace suddenly stopped and let out a shrill scream!
"what!!!!!"
She covered her chest with her hands, her face instantly filled with extreme disgust and horror, and she accused in a shrill, panic-stricken tone that was enough to attract the attention of the entire audience:
"You filthy bastard! Let me go!"
