Chapter 279 Secretly swear
Chapter 279 Secretly swear
Time passed quickly, and two weeks had passed since Dobby's late night visit (or was it invasion?), which was the time Harry had lived in the Burrow.
During this period, Harry usually spent his mornings doing homework with me, playing chess (Harry had improved a lot in the past two weeks), or cleaning up the gnomes in the garden. In the afternoons, he would mostly play Quidditch in the garden with Fred, George (and occasionally Charlie). Although there were not enough people and no special equipment, it was basically a simulation of Quidditch, but surprisingly, Harry mastered the Firebolt almost perfectly.
That's a broom that can fly at a speed of 240 kilometers per hour!
I really wonder how he developed his dynamic vision and body control, and I even began to admire him.
Even though Sirius was very busy, he often came to see Harry flying, and he would cheer for Harry's excellent performance every time. With each meeting, Sirius looked stronger, his cheeks were no longer thin, his chest became thicker, and he looked more and more handsome. Every time Ginny saw Sirius coming, she always acted very nervous (you ask me how I know his chest has become thicker? Because every time he came, he would give me a big hug!).
And so, one morning, as Harry and the occasional Sirius were gradually integrating into the Weasley family, the letter from Hogwarts arrived.
While I was busy at the breakfast table, my owl Toto came running around me, wanting my bacon. However, the letter was delivered by a forest owl that I didn't recognize (no wonder, I had never seen it before, it was the school owl). Toto tried to intimidate the owl and made a beak-clashing sound, but the owl fought back and scared it back to me.
It contained only a list of textbooks for the new term and Ginny's letter of admission. To express my apology, I gave the owl a piece of my bacon.
Fred saw that the list was full of Professor Lockhart's books and joked that the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor must be a witch. As soon as he said this, he immediately met his mother Molly's eyes and quickly turned his head to pretend to concentrate on spreading his jam on toast (Mom Molly was very obsessed with Professor Lockhart recently).
Then, Percy, who was late, almost used our old owl Errol as a cushion, because this grandfather-like owl was lying on the chair with the letter in his mouth and didn't move.
Since I was still unsure about Toto's long-distance flying ability, I gave the letter to Hermione to Errol. It seemed that he was exhausted when he first got home. Maybe I should borrow Percy's Hermes Owl.
"Thank you for your hard work, Errol. I'm sorry to have made you fly so far..."
I placed Errol on a mat that was almost his own mattress (he probably would fall off a perch) by a sunny window, filled his own water bowl, and put my last piece of bacon in his food bowl.
Toto jumped off my shoulder and jumped around Errol, as if asking, "Are you okay? Are you okay?" He looked a bit like a grandson caring about his grandfather (laughs).
Hermione's letter said she was going to Diagon Alley to buy new textbooks on Wednesday and invited me to go with her.
"Mom and Dad, Hermione said she's going to Diagon Alley to buy textbooks this Wednesday and asked if I could meet her. Is that okay?"
"Wednesday? I think I could use the day off. What do you think, Molly?"
"No problem. Ginny also has to prepare for school, and we have to buy textbooks for the kids."
Since they were going to Diagon Alley as well, they agreed easily.
"Well I have to reply to Hermione... Um, Percy, can I borrow your Hermes?"
"Hmm? ...Oh, of course."
Percy seemed confused at first as to why I wanted to borrow his owl, but when he saw Errol, who was still in a daze, he nodded and agreed.
"Thank you. I'll come to your room after I finish writing my reply."
"Ok."
Percy said nothing, but Ginny looked unhappy.
"Why do you have to borrow Percy's owl? Can't you just use Toto?"
Ginny always called Toto "Piggy", but Toto didn't think that was his name at all.
Ginny, as a child from a wizarding family, was obsessed with having "an owl of her own." She was unhappy that I got Toto first, and although she usually tried to ignore me, she would suddenly become excited when Toto was mentioned (even in front of Harry).
"Toto is still young. I don't feel comfortable flying long distances. He is still young too. Besides, Ginny, I've told you several times not to call my pet by that tasteless nickname!"
To be honest, I really don’t understand why the owl was given such a strange name as “Piggy”.
Ginny's face turned as red as her hair at my words, but before she could protest, her mother Molly raised her voice.
"Alright! We're going out on Wednesday, so everyone, give me the clothes you plan to wear by tomorrow morning. I have to iron them!"
……
Nothing much happened in Diagon Alley. If anything, I was ordered to stay with Charlie and hold his hand. My father, Arthur, and Lucius Malfoy had a big fight (but, isn't it reasonable to not use magic?).
The only thing that worries me is that in the original book, Ginny got "Tom Riddle's Diary" in Diagon Alley, but there was no trace of that thing in her luggage.
I once suspected that the original work had deviated from the original, but I always had a lingering ominous feeling in my heart. However, when nothing seemed to change in front of me, I could do nothing.
At Hogwarts, I was determined to keep Ginny out of my sight as much as possible. However, this determination was shattered on the morning of September 9st, the beginning of the new term.
Because we couldn't get into platform 9, Harry and Charlie were bounced off the railings!!!
(If I ever get the chance to meet Dobby, I will definitely teach him a lesson...!)
Although I felt reassured that Charlie was there, I covered my forehead where I had been hit hard and swore secretly.
