Chapter 161, Section 58: Claws vs. Bats (Part 1)

Royce knew Qin Wei well; once Qin Wei made up his mind about something, no one could change it. So Royce nodded solemnly, expressing his respect and blessings.

"Boss, take care."

"Thanks."

After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Royce left Qin Wei with the equipment he had prepared: a Kevlar bodysuit, three high-explosive grenades, a rifle with six magazines, and a large canister of liquid nitrogen.

At that moment, Qin Wei was unaware that Matchstick Ma Long had bought him ample breathing time; he was prepared to treat every battle that followed as if it were his last.

After struggling to put on the bulletproof vest, Qin Wei patted his earpiece and summoned Mr. Hacker.

No one has approached Robinson Park yet.

"Very good, how about Chief Gordon?"

"The fight started half an hour ago. The corrupt police have a weirdo who can unleash high-temperature flames. They surrendered as you requested, and their Stands have entered the alley—in short, your plan has gone smoothly."

The hacker was breathing heavily through the earpiece, his tone urgent, all of which Qin Wei accurately picked up.

"More than the plan, I'd like to know what's going on where you are?"

"It's alright, sir, I'm fine." "The premise of cooperation is sincerity. Tell me honestly if you've encountered any danger."

"My IP address has been traced, and the other party must also be a top-level hacker. My anti-surveillance system was made three years ago, and it seems rather crude in comparison to his cracking methods—"

After hesitating for a few seconds, the other party finally revealed their current situation.

"But it's okay, I've already run away from home, don't worry about me—"

Qin Wei was not surprised at all.

That makes sense. If the Owl Court wanted to find someone, the best way would be to check all the cameras in the city. In that case, it would be almost certain that their own hackers would be exposed.

"How far back is the investigation record from?"

"I left home ten minutes ago, before they could fully track me down. As long as I keep moving and constantly changing my IP address, they won't be able to find me for a while!"

"At this critical juncture, you still want to walk the dog? Cut off all communication immediately, throw away all electronic devices on your body, and walk along blind spots of the surveillance cameras!"

"But sir, you still need me now—"

"I need you to live."

Qin Wei's tone carried an undeniable arrogance.

"Alright, sir—you'll have to be careful."

With Mr. Hacker cutting off communications, the whole world seemed to fall into a suffocating silence.

Qin Wei, holding the gun, was momentarily at a loss.

Just like when Hawk fought Deathstroke, he now has no helpers, no support, and not even anyone to talk to. The number of his opponents is unknown, as is when they will appear or from which direction they will launch a surprise attack.

Qin Wei guessed that perhaps the other party's hacker was watching him through the camera at that moment.

Qin Wei, now is not the time to stand around in a daze, get moving!

After encouraging himself, he quickly perked up. Qin Wei knew that the most important thing was to keep moving and not let his location be locked.

Thinking of this, Qin Wei headed towards the park's north exit right under the camera's nose, but just as he stepped out of the surveillance camera's view,

It immediately made a large turn and headed south again.

If there really is a hacker monitoring the area, this method probably won't fool them. When the hacker discovers that there is no sign of the target at the north exit, they will still retrieve the surveillance footage again. However, the time wasted is enough for Qin Wei to widen the distance between himself and his pursuers.

His target was the city of Berleley, where a great battle had just taken place. As the saying goes, the most dangerous place is the safest place. The claws had just withdrawn, making it the perfect hiding place.

What Qin Wei had to do was stall for time, until the night faded away and the owl had no choice but to retract its claws.

Running out of the park and across the snow-covered streets, Qin Wei encountered a guy he didn't want to see at the intersection in the Coventry district.

Standing by the pedestrian sign at the other end of the street, William Claw stretched his neck. Half of his mask was smashed, and his clothes were stained with blood from two major battles.

First Jason, then Dick, and now he's run right into Batman. This courtroom ace, Claw, has incredibly good luck.

The two locked eyes, their gazes more chilling and desolate than a snowy winter night.

As Qin Wei raised the muzzle of his rifle, William quickly moved to the side.

boom!

call out!

The two attacked simultaneously, their throwing knives and bullets whizzing past each other.

William nimbly bent down to dodge, while Qin Wei raised his forearm to block.

Boom boom boom!

Three throwing knives pierced the arm guards of the bulletproof vest, the blades almost penetrating the Kevlar fabric.

Through this probing attack, Qin Wei gained a general understanding of his opponent's strength.

William has extremely strong wrists, so try not to take his attacks head-on unless absolutely necessary.

Thinking of this, Qin Wei was the first to throw the liquid nitrogen on his back far away.

Keeping the liquid nitrogen tank now could allow it to be pierced by a throwing knife from an opponent at any time, thus injuring himself. Qin Wei's decision was wise.

William, after launching his barrage of projectiles, retreated into the shadows of the high-rise building. He seemed in no hurry to fight to the death, instead relying on constantly harassing Qin Wei by throwing projectiles from all directions.

Qin Wei was soon riddled with more than a dozen throwing knives, but he was not without the ability to fight back. He fired bullets toward the direction from which the knives came while running away from the intersection.

At this moment, Claw had the high ground and the cover of shadows, giving him home-field advantage. His task was to lure his opponent out of the city.

The two sides fled and chased each other, and soon rushed out of the city and arrived at the cliff edge of the Coventry district.

Qin Wei was very familiar with this place. The first time he went on an adventure with Selena and Director Gordon, they fell into the sea from the outlet at the bottom of this cliff. He also remembered that they had all seen a Batplane back then.

Although this matter remains a mystery to this day, the poor guy who once dreamed of being saved by Batman has grown into his own superhero, and soon he will become the hero of the entire city.

"What's wrong? Not throwing knives anymore? Did my hedgehog-like appearance make you feel sorry for me? Or have you run out of throwing weapons?"

Qin Wei stood on the edge of the cliff, pulling out the projectiles embedded in his armor one by one, and then with a wave of his hand, threw these iron pieces down the cliff.

"Aren't you the same? You fought until you were out of ammunition and supplies. You thought you were smart enough to lure me to this desolate place? But unfortunately, I'm the one who forced you here. Claws are best at close combat, and without bullets and liquid nitrogen, how can mortal flesh fight against Claws?"

William Cobb crossed his arms across his chest, drawing two hidden blades from their sheaths.

In his first formal encounter with Qin Wei, he unleashed a hidden blade.
