Chapter 31 Professor Quirrell
Chapter 31 Professor Quirrell
As the stone statue rattled, Kane raised an eyebrow at Harry and Ron: "Want to go in?"
Harry and Ron exchanged a glance: "Of course."
The three of them kept walking up the steps until they reached the actual door of the principal's office, where they stopped and sat down in a row on the steps.
Because a buzzing or chattering sound was coming from inside the door behind them, as if someone was arguing about something, but the soundproofing spell on the door had turned it into this buzzing sound.
Suddenly, Professor McGonagall pushed open the door from the inside, turned around and said seriously to Dumbledore, who was sitting in a chair, "You'll regret this one day."
Dumbledore's voice echoed softly: "Minerva, I am the headmaster."
Professor McGonagall seemed furious, but as soon as she turned around, she saw Kane and his two companions sitting in a row on the stairs. She took a deep breath, walked around them, and left.
"I'm starting to regret coming here," Ron said quietly. Who knew that coming here would lead to the principal and his own dean arguing about something trivial? The three of them had just walked right into the line of fire.
However, the angry version of Dumbledore they expected did not appear. Instead, a calm voice said, "Oh, it's the three of you. What's the matter?"
Kane stood up and patted his backside: "What were you and Professor McGonagall arguing about so loudly just now?"
"It's because of a special professor, but don't worry, everything is under control." Dumbledore smiled. "Now let's get back to our question. Who are the three of you?"
"Harry and Ron want to ask you about the meaning of that opening line." Kane, seeing Harry and Ron behaving like quails, helped them ask the question.
"Actually, it doesn't really mean anything. If you ask your upperclassmen, you'll find that the opening remarks are different every year, just like the Sorting Hat's song," Dumbledore patiently explained.
"Yes, Headmaster Dumbledore, we understand. We'll be leaving now." Harry and Ron stood up obediently, greeted Dumbledore, and prepared to leave.
Kane, however, still had something to say, and was making a half-hearted attempt: "Do you have any golden, glittering gold here?"
"You need something? Oh, I think I know what you want to do. But unfortunately, although I am the headmaster of Hogwarts, most of my money is donated to the Hogwarts Orphanage. It may not be a good idea for you to come to me," Dumbledore said, shaking his head.
"Well, looks like that fund is under pressure?" Kane said.
"That's right. Because of Voldemort, the number of orphan students at Hogwarts has remained high in recent years. Pure-blood families would rather spend hundreds of gallons to buy a magical work of art than give an orphan wizard the opportunity to wear a brand new robe."
After Dumbledore finished speaking, Kane and Harry didn't seem to feel anything, but Ron suddenly shuddered. However, when he saw that it was Dumbledore who had said those words, he felt relieved.
No matter how powerful and terrifying Voldemort was, he had been missing for so long, and Dumbledore was right there at Hogwarts. How could he still be operating under Dumbledore's nose?
joke!
"Alright, hopefully those pure-blood families can turn over a new leaf soon. We'll be going now." Kane said, about to leave with Harry and Ron, his movements smooth as if he had only come here to bother Dumbledore before bed.
"By the way, tomorrow morning is Defense Against the Dark Arts, I think you should go to bed early and make a good impression on your Professor Quirrell," Dumbledore reminded you.
"no problem."
Kane and his two companions quickly returned to the Gryffindor common room, arriving just one minute before curfew.
The moment the three returned to their dormitory, Harry and Ron could no longer contain themselves: "Why?"
"How did you get into Headmaster Dumbledore's office?"
"And why do you two seem so familiar with each other?"
Kane sat on the bed, trying to keep his cheekbones relaxed: "Didn't I tell you guys before that it was Dumbledore who delivered my acceptance letter?"
Harry and Ron fell silent for a moment. Just like the relatively small number of Muggle wizards at Hogwarts, there weren't many times when the professors needed to pick them up in person.
On the rare occasions when such events occur, a special bond develops between the professor and the young wizard.
Just as parents bring their children into this world, the relationship between a young wizard and a parent who brings the wizard into the magical world for the first time is not too distant. At least before the Sorting Ceremony, they maintain a relatively reserved relationship.
If, during the Sorting Ceremony, this young wizard is assigned to the same house as a professor, then this young wizard will have a status similar to that of a direct descendant, and may in the future leave behind a touching and beautiful story of mentor and student in Hogwarts' history.
Of course, if the students are sorted into different houses, the relationship will be better than usual. When professors are picking on a student, they will deliberately avoid that student. However, if the professor is particularly rude, then that's another story.
"If the person who first introduced me to the wizarding world was someone like Professor Dumbledore... hmph... hehe... hehehehe..."
Kane and Harry just watched as Ron started daydreaming.
This child is a bit silly. Since things have come to this, let's go to sleep first.
The next day, the three of them arrived at the Defense Against the Dark Arts class early. Just from the name, with both dark magic and defense techniques, you could tell that this course was full of valuable information.
A little while later, the other young wizards from Gryffindor also came in. They looked at Kane and his two companions, who were already sitting in the first row, with somewhat strange expressions.
Logically speaking, all three of them were quite popular, so why didn't anyone remind them about Professor Quirrell?
The three of them exchanged glances, and then said in unison, "I thought you guys had already said that?"
"Should we remind them to sit in the back?"
"Hmm, let's not do it. Look at the way Kane is looking at us, it's weird."
Kane was looking at them strangely now. Why did they specifically mention that you should sit at the back of Professor Quirrell's class?
And it wasn't just them; Dumbledore also mentioned going to bed early last night to give Professor Quirrell a good impression.
Could it be that Professor Quirrell is the strictest professor among all the young wizards at Hogwarts, the kind of ruthless character who deducts points at the slightest provocation?
But he wasn't afraid. He figured, "So what if I lose points? It won't cost me money."
Just as he was embracing this childish idea, an overly authoritative smell of garlic wafted into the classroom from outside.
