Chapter 578 Broadcast Room
Chapter 578 Broadcast Room
Lin Feng chuckled, nodded, and pulled Su Wan to sit down at two desks side by side in the office.
"Close your eyes and calm your mind."
Seeing Su Wan obediently close her eyes, Lin Feng followed suit, immersing his mind in his sea of consciousness and quietly activating his ability—Infinite Deduction.
The gray and white space suddenly unfolded.
Su Wan opened her eyes and looked around, unable to help but exclaim in amazement, "Wow...how amazing, is this the deduction space?"
Lin Feng smiled and took her hand: "I'll show you something more interesting."
He gently pulled her, taking her on a small leap through time and space.
The surrounding gray and white distorted for a moment like flowing water, and when they looked again, the two of them were already suspended outside a new scene.
Su Wan's eyes widened in surprise, like a child who had discovered a new toy, and she excitedly tugged at his finger:
"Quick, take me to see what Ah Que is doing in her room at midnight!"
Lin Feng frowned: "What?"
Su Wan: "Her dark circles have been quite prominent lately. I suspect she's obsessed with some strange things."
Lin Feng nodded, and with a thought, the two of them silently appeared outside the glass window of A Que's room at exactly midnight.
Looking through the glass, the two of them widened their eyes in surprise.
Ah Que was wearing headphones, with a book titled "Postpartum Care of Sows" open on the table. She was holding a red pen and marking the pages, muttering to herself as if she were memorizing some key points.
Judging from his serious demeanor, he was clearly brushing up on his aquaculture skills in preparation for starting a business back in his hometown.
Su Wan's lips twitched, and she rolled up her sleeves, ready to squeeze through the window: "No, I have to go in and talk to her—"
Lin Feng grabbed her shoulder and said, "This is a simulation space. Even if you go in and kill her, she won't know it in reality. We should go to the broadcasting room to take care of important business first."
Su Wan snapped out of her daze and stuck out her tongue.
Su Wan snapped out of her reverie and stuck out her tongue: "I almost forgot the important thing... The broadcasting room is on the second floor of a separate building behind the outpatient building."
Lin Feng nodded, and with a thought, the gray space blurred briefly, like ink being stirred by an invisible brush.
Upon regaining their senses, the two found themselves standing on a deserted path in the park.
The pale, cold moonlight poured down, covering the two-story old building in front of it.
The building is in the style left over from the early Republic of China era, with blue bricks and gray walls. A few old newspapers are still stuck on the wooden window frames, making a rustling sound when the night wind blows.
The eaves are slightly upturned, and the carvings are either animal heads or lotus flowers, leaving only a stubborn outline standing out in the moonlight.
"This place...it feels like a filming location for a horror movie," Lin Feng muttered.
Su Wan didn't reply, but squinted and looked around. Then, she took Lin Feng's arm, lightly touched the ground with her toes, and the two of them silently landed in the side window on the second floor.
The ball of his foot landed, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Lin Feng pulled a flashlight from his spatial storage, pushed it with his thumb, and a bright beam of light cut through the darkness, shooting straight ahead.
The corridor was long, with several rooms on each side, all of which were closed.
Underfoot was a dark red old-fashioned wooden floor covered with a thin layer of gray.
Several old promotional posters were pasted on the wall.
Lin Feng scanned the area with his flashlight, frowned, and asked, "Have you been here before?"
Su Wan shook her head: "This is my first time here too."
The two walked slowly forward side by side, and soon stopped at the door of the room at the far end of the corridor. The faded lettering of "Broadcast Control Room" on the door was covered with a thick layer of dust, and looked like it had been sealed for many years.
Su Wan frowned: "Strange, this place looks like it hasn't been used for a long time."
As she spoke, she raised her finger and gently fiddled with the door lock mechanism a few times. With a soft "click," the lock popped open, and the door slowly slid open a crack.
Dust fell in a flurry from above the door frame, like a fine gray rain.
The two entered sideways.
This is a small room of about ten square meters.
Against the wall was an old control panel. On the left side of the panel were a row of yellowed push levers and knobs, and on the right side were a dual cassette recorder and a CD player, both of which were the old-fashioned silver-gray models.
Next to it stood a power amplifier that looked like it came from the 1990s, with a red warning label that read "Please do not touch this broadcast equipment".
There was a metal cabinet standing in the corner, with the door ajar.
The window was covered with a layer of old newspapers, completely blocking out the moonlight.
All the equipment was covered in a thick layer of dust, and when the flashlight beam swept across the table, there was no sign that it had been touched recently.
Lin Feng reached out and wiped the edge of the table, picking up a layer of grime with his fingertips.
Su Wan's gaze lingered between the power amplifier and the inconspicuous black chassis in the corner.
A faint wisp of dark energy flickered deep within his pupils as his S-level perception was fully activated.
She turned her head, her gaze fixed on the black computer case in the corner, and slowly narrowed her eyes.
The top of the chassis was covered with a thick layer of dust, but the metal grille around the rear ventilation holes was clean, as if it had been carefully wiped or repeatedly washed by airflow.
She pointed to that spot: "This machine was used!"
Upon hearing this, Lin Feng took two steps to the back of the computer case, squatted down, and closely examined the ventilation holes.
He ran his hand along the edge of the grille, his fingertips clean.
"It's true... there's not a speck of dust here. Now, if we can find the audio source of 'Naked Dance,' it will prove that someone is secretly operating equipment here."
As he spoke, Lin Feng strode to the metal cabinet, bent down, and rummaged through the cardboard boxes piled at the bottom of the cabinet.
Inside were several bundles of old cables, two blank cassette tapes covered in dust, and a microphone whose packaging was moldy.
He then opened each drawer one by one to check the compartments of the cassette recorder and CD player, but still found nothing.
"Strange, there's no audio file for 'Naked Dance No. 1'!"
Su Wan squatted down next to the black computer case, gently moved the case aside, and soon saw a small device emitting a faint green light at the bottom.
"There's a wireless network receiving device," she stood up, dusting off her hands. "That piece of music might not necessarily be played through a physical medium."
"It's very likely that someone—or something—remotely controlled this old relic via wireless network, making it ring at a specific time."
Lin Feng narrowed his eyes: "So... those souls who died unjustly evolved into hackers?"
"Possibly." Su Wan turned her head, looking at him with a deep gaze, "but I think the real situation might be even worse than that."
She paused for a moment, then lowered her voice slightly: "They have very likely hijacked the hospital's AI system—Amanssa."
