Latis looked at the village croupier who turned to him, nodded, and prepared to take the cards.
The villagers spat out the five cards, but to their surprise, the cards were not directly absorbed by Latis. Instead, they landed on the table, stood upright, and began to spin.
Latis silently exchanged a glance with his two card-playing friends, whose eyes were filled with determination, and then looked at the villagers.
"Hmph~ Huh?"
"Yes, I can't automatically pick up cards! This is completely unacceptable! So you better deal me the cards properly, all my cards have been seen!"
Latis, panting heavily, slammed his hand on the table. The dealer was stunned for a few seconds, seemingly completely unprepared for this scene. Then he glanced to his left and right, and the two players instantly understood, spitting out all the cards they had just taken.
The dealer collected the cards and began to shuffle them again.
"Thank goodness, the villagers knew they'd see the cards spinning. They've reshuffled them now. I wonder if they'll change the way they deal them later?"
"If only I had some emerald on me, I could bribe him..."
Latis watched as the dealer, after another round of sniffing the cards with his nose, leaned against the table, and then a perfect circle of cards instantly appeared on the table.
"Wow! What kind of magic is this? Coach, I want to learn it too!"
Latis stared blankly as the dealer nodded, then noticed that Steve on his right had already reached out to take the cards.
"Okay, that's definitely fairer... huh?"
Under Latis's shocked gaze, Steve, with a straight expression, pressed one end of the card fan with his square hand, then pulled it back towards him.
"Wait a minute, I saw it all! You got six cards, didn't you?! Hey! You, Steve with your thick eyebrows, are playing these tricks on me too?"
Steve and the dealer's eyes met for a few seconds. Then he raised his square hand, fiddled with it a few times, and the dealer nodded and didn't pursue the matter further.
"No, you're the dealer! You definitely saw it, right? You're not going to pursue it just because he doesn't have fingers!"
Alex on the left looked down at the card fan, then stretched out his hand horizontally, pressed down with his arm, and moved the card back in front of him.
"Big sister?! That's even more outrageous! That arm of yours must have at least ten cards! Is this how you play cards?"
Latis couldn't help but internally rant and rave. Looking at the three people waiting for him, he remained silent for a long while, then took a deep breath and muttered:
"Don't underestimate me, you blocky people! These... are giant hands that can span thirteen keys on a piano!"
He suddenly stood up, his face contorted with rage, and placed his hands on the card fan. He laughed wildly as he pulled the entire fan in front of him, gathering all the remaining cards into his hands.
Steve looked down at the pitiful six cards in his hand with a resolute gaze, then glanced at the deck in Latis's hand, and silently stared at the dealer.
"Hmph~ Huh?"
The dealer glanced at Steve, twitched his nose, clasped his hands together (he was already clasping them), and turned his head away.
Steve was silent for a moment, then spat a card in his face.
"Hmm, hmm~ ah?"
Amid the dealer's questioning voice, Steve spat another card into his face.
"Hmph, hum!"
Amid the villagers' angry shouts, Steve finished playing his cards, then pulled out a diamond sword, leaped up, and slashed at a villager.
"Hmph! Humph!"
The villager's face was surprisingly calm, but his legs began to swing wildly as he frantically fled the room with a composed gait.
Latis watched this scene in utter shock. Only when the villager spat out several emeralds to beg for mercy, yet was still killed by Steve, did he come to his senses and mutter to himself:
"Wow, this is a true PvP master..."
With a resolute expression, Steve sheathed his diamond sword, made a few protruding gestures at Latis and Alex, then dug a hole in the room with his bare hands and jumped out.
"Just leave like that?"
Latis paused for a moment, then looked at Alex, who had also stood up beside him.
"You left too? Aren't you going to play cards anymore?"
Alex glanced at the croupier's corpse, which had vanished in a puff of white smoke after lying on the ground, and looked at Latis as if he were an idiot.
"Ha, ha...that's true. Being a croupier is a dangerous profession..."
Latis chuckled twice, hesitated for a moment, and then imitated Steve by sticking his butt out twice.
Alex paused for a moment, then stuck his butt out a couple of times before walking to the hole dug in the room, taking out a bucket, and jumping down.
"Is sticking your butt out really a form of etiquette for the blocky people? ...Although it's very accurate, it feels really unnecessary!"
Latis couldn't help but mutter a complaint, shook his head, and collected the chips on the table.
"However, it seems different from what I imagined. The dealer isn't the absolute leader of this game? What's the purpose of this game then? I'm a little curious..."
He walked to the hole that was about the height of a person, peeked out, and was stunned by the square clouds and the sun.
"Okay, alright... It's strange, but it's exactly what I expected! I wonder what the main storyline of this world will be. Will it also involve fighting the Ender Dragon?"
Suddenly, a strange noise caught Latis's attention. He turned around, looked at the diamond slowly appearing on the card table, and scratched his head.
"Where did this water come from...? I'm going to be crazy!"
The water, spreading outwards, instantly engulfed Latis's body, carrying him out of the room's opening. Latis struggled to open his eyes, looking at the distant land shrouded in mist, and cried out in sorrow:
Goodbye, beautiful world!

"Link, Link, wake up..."
"Link..."
……
"I'm getting up, I can hear Zelda's voice..." Latis rubbed his head and sat up, looking around at the beach where the waves were gently rising, and shook his head.
"Is it just psychological? I do feel a little guilty about spending a hundred hours on a picnic and still not being able to save the princess..."
"Link..."
A gentle voice suddenly rang in Latis's mind. Startled, he sprang to his feet, looked around, and cautiously called out:
"Who? Who is it? Come out now, stop playing tricks! This guy is the one who stays up all night watching horror movies for ten hours straight every year on his birthday—he's a real star eater!"
A drop of water appeared before Latis's eyes, then slowly condensed into a faint, illusory humanoid figure. Her face was obscured, and she nodded slightly in a gesture of respect.
"Spirit visitor from the outside world, do not panic. I am merely a fragment of a soul that accidentally attached itself to you while slumbering at the bottom of the sea. After sensing that you were about to drown, I controlled the waves to wash you ashore..."
"Oh, I see." Latis scratched his head and said, "You're so kind, thank you... Is there anything else? If not, I'll be going now?"
"Huh?" The spirit's heavy emotions were abruptly interrupted. She was stunned for a moment, and only after seeing that Latis was really about to leave did she finally come to her senses and hurriedly called out:
"I... I need something! Um, um, I need to ask you for a favor..."
[After your rogue actions, the poor spirit's mind has become a complete mess, and even the color of her spirit body has turned murky.]
[You kindly grabbed her with both hands, one above and one below, and swung her forward sharply. Then, the gray fluid inside her body was seen swirling back to her head in a vortex. After resting for a while, Miss Soul finally spoke: "The sea of debt is filled with water, howling nine times..."]
[Through her fragmented explanation, you finally learn that Miss Soul was a wisp of remnant soul wandering between heaven and earth. She didn't know who she was, nor where she should go. After watching many other souls dissipate into the world, a sense of panic suddenly arose in her heart. After hiding in a bottle at the bottom of the sea for countless years, she was absorbed into your body when you smashed the bottle.]
"If you could take me with you and help me find my memories, I would reward you handsomely!" the spirit girl declared confidently. She hesitated for a moment, then added, "Although I don't yet know what I can offer you, my intuition tells me I was once very wealthy!"
"I even have a gut feeling I'm the reincarnation of Brother Niu," you muttered to yourself. For you, bringing a soul along on your journey is a piece of cake, but you still need to figure out a few things first.
"First, what else do you know about yourself? Second, do you know where you are? Third, what is a spirit traveler, and how do you know I come from the outside world?" you ask.
"My last memory is of a starry sky... Where am I... I don't know!" Miss Soul said. "A spirit guest is... a body with a soul? Hmm, it's easy to tell you come from the outside world, isn't it?"
You looked at your own intricately detailed body, then at the trees on the blocky ground, and exclaimed with sudden realization, "Oh, oh! Okay!"
Although you didn't get any useful information from Miss Soul, you're always a doer and don't dwell on these things. So you immediately wrung out the water from your clothes and casually chose a direction to set off.
This world is completely unfamiliar to you, so you observe the things around you with great curiosity. But you soon realize that even from your perspective, the world is a bit too abstract.
"Uh……"
Latis looked at the apple in his hand, knowing full well what would happen but still muttering in disbelief:
"Why do apples fall from those branches that have no branches or leaves growing on them?"
He examined the apple, which looked exactly the same from every angle, and couldn't help but complain:
"It looks so anime-like! Is it really edible?"
“Sure!” Miss Soul said in his mind. “By the way, seeing this forest suddenly reminded me that it seems you can cut down trees if you keep hitting them!”
"What the hell..."
Latis hesitated before putting the apple in his mouth, but after taking a bite, he was startled by a crunching sound that seemed to come from nowhere.
"Holy crap! What's that sound?"
He looked around and tentatively took another bite of the apple.
Click click click...
Latis was silent for a moment, then shoved the apple down his throat.
"Why does this apple taste bland?..." He flicked a few leaves, scratching his head, "But why does it feel kind of delicious?"
He shook his head, glanced at the trees to the side, hesitated for a few seconds, and then muttered:
"Chopping down a tree with bare hands—I know that's a rule, but it just sounds so improbable..."
