Chapter 67 The Golden Legend of Hogwarts
Chapter 67 The Golden Legend of Hogwarts
"Hey guys, did you hear that? Someone's having a concert?"
Fred said jokingly.
The next one to crawl out of the hunchbacked passage of the witch statue was, of course, the other of the twins—George Weasley.
"Phew—you misheard, Fred."
George, also carrying a package, jumped off the statue's pedestal, panting and listening intently.
"I think the fat lady must have drunk too much in Violet's picture frame again, and she's singing, even worse than usual!"
"It doesn't matter who sings—"
The last person to climb out of the tunnel carrying a package was Lee Jordan, a mutual friend of the Weasley twins, with his distinctive braided hair.
"As long as it's not Filch's."
Li said that he pulled and tugged to get the package hanging on the stone statue down.
"Don't worry, Lee, Filch poses no threat to us."
George said kindly,
"We have plenty of ways to deal with him—ah, of course, like Professor Delfino's wonderful 'Protect the Captain' game, we need to use a few tools."
"The selfless help from the fork, the big foot, the moon face, and the worm tail—"
Fred dropped his bag, chuckling as he rummaged in his pocket, and said...
"Speaking of 'Protect the Captain'... this game has made me not really want to play Quidditch lately. Wood always says I'm 'not doing my job properly'."
"Ignore him, Fred, he's completely absorbed in this game... Look, where's Filch now?"
Fred pulled a piece of old parchment from his pocket.
George and Lee immediately gathered around, watching Fred unfold the parchment and tap it with his wand—
I solemnly declare that I will not do good deeds.
In an instant, fine lines of ink, like a spider web, began to spread from where the tip of Fred's wand had touched, crisscrossing and extending across the entire parchment.
Li shifted his position, letting the moonlight spill onto the parchment.
Fred searched the paper with his wand—
"Nearby...nearby...ah, congratulations, there's nobody around here—Professor Snape is patrolling the fifth floor...let me see Filch and his silly cat...they're on the third floor!"
"Do you know what interesting thing I discovered?"
George also squinted at the map, a playful smile playing on his lips...appreciation.
"What?"
"What's wrong?"
Despite their questioning, George remained squinting at the map. He raised his hand and pointed to a spot with his fingertip—
Fred and Lee immediately looked over, glanced at each other... and then smiled.
At the other end of the fourth-floor corridor, several names were moving rapidly; it was undoubtedly—
Harry Potter; Ron Weasley; Hermione Granger; and Neville Longbottom!
"Do you want to ask me how I'm feeling right now, Fred?"
George sniffed and put on a fake, seemingly very touched expression.
"I see."
Fred made the same face.
"There's a successor... Do you want me to tell you? I've always worried that our dear little Ronnie will follow in the footsteps of Prefect Percy."
"Yeah, yeah—if only our family had another prefect, Percy—"
George shuddered.
"How can I stay at home then... I'm afraid I'll have to run away from home, brother."
"Oh, you two have had enough—"
Li said he stared at the parchment, his brow slightly furrowed.
"I don't know if you noticed, but they just ran out from the right-hand corridor on the fourth floor."
After a moment of silence—
Oh~
【NICE~】
Fred and George exchanged meaningful glances.
"Outstanding young people!"
Fred said.
"Outstanding young people!"
George said.
"An admirable spirit of adventure and resistance!"
Fred said.
"Youth surpasses its teachers!"
"Do you know what I'm thinking, Fred?"
"Don't tell me, George, I don't want to hear it."
"But you surely agree with me, right, Fred?"
"Of course, George, how can we let these young people 'shine' all the way?"
"I don't want to know what you two are up to."
Li rolled his eyes, his voice muffled.
"But I dragged this heavy thing for so long tonight, I'm exhausted, I just want to go back to sleep."
"Want to come along?"
Fred looked at Lee with a smile.
"Either we break off all contact!"
George smiled and said.
Lee Jordan looked 'despair' but said nothing, seemingly resigned to his fate.
The three young wizards, each dragging a bundle, used the moonlight and the map to pass through the trophy display room, reach the fourth-floor spiral staircase platform, and stand in front of a door.
Behind this door is the corridor on the right side of the fourth floor.
"I don't understand, if Dumbledore forbids students from entering this corridor, why doesn't he lock this door?"
Fred easily opened the unlocked wooden door and asked curiously.
"You can't always believe everything Dumbledore says; he sometimes likes to crack cute little jokes."
George followed him in, looking around the dusty corridor.
This place is no different from the corridor to the left of the stairs, with rows of silent rooms that look like they haven't been used for a long time.
The corridor floor was covered with dust that might have accumulated over centuries. Because someone had just come in, the dust was kicked up into the air by footsteps, clouding the clear moonlight.
The boys who barged in all wore expressions of disappointment.
"Cough—this place doesn't look very interesting."
Fred coughed twice, choked by the dust.
"Don't jump to conclusions, Fred—"
George said he brought the parchment over.
"Let's see what those four noble gentlemen have to say... Ah, I've got it!"
His finger pointed to a location on the map, drawing Fred and Lee's attention. His finger slowly rose, finally pointing to the very end of the corridor.
"I imagine a gentleman named Louis has prepared hot tea and refreshments and is waiting for our visit!"
"In that case, what are we waiting for?"
Fred said cheerfully.
The three young wizards tiptoed through the corridor and stood in front of the door at the end of the corridor.
The door was closed, but the bolt was pulled open... It's obvious who did it.
"My God, I never thought anyone could snore so loudly."
"At the door," Lee Jordan clicked his tongue.
"Since we've already decided to meet with this gentleman named [Louis], and anticipate disturbing his sleep—"
Fred cleared his throat, striking a gentlemanly pose.
"Once you enter, you must be impeccably polite and courteous, agree?"
"I couldn't agree more... Shall we push the door open together?"
George said with a grin.
The three boys stood together in front of the door, and George counted down in a low voice: three... two... one... push!
"Hello, Mr. Lu Wei, we are... Ah!!!"
【Ah—! !!! !!!】 (from Fred Weasley)
【Ah—!!!!】(from Lee Jordan)
Roar! ! !
After a deafening roar, three terrifying heads squeezed in, and a black claw, larger than the giant's body, stirred up a raging storm and slammed down on the three little wizards!
The next second, they will lose their lives on the spot!
Clang!
It was as if dozens of taut strings had snapped at the same time. After the terrifying whistling sound, two bright and sharp golden sparks flashed on the gleaming crystal cabinet!
A thick cloak slowly drifted down from mid-air, but the cloak's owner was no longer in the same spot.
