Chapter 377 Binary Form
"Then come and get it yourself." These words immediately created a tense atmosphere between the two sides.
Captain Marvel frowned. This person who could destroy a Kree battleship single-handedly might think he was very strong, but there are always people more powerful than you in the universe.
Given Captain Marvel's ability to traverse space with her bare hands and Superman's ability to cleave the Dark Star battleship with a red light barrier, if these two were to exchange a punch on the spot, not only would Star-Lord himself be wiped out, but the entire space station would likely be obliterated by the aftershocks of the battle.
Star-Lord felt terrible at the thought. Although he knew it was useless, he still quickly pulled Gamora back a few steps: "Jesus, I feel like I can't breathe right now."
Star-Lord's use of the word "Jesus" surprised Carol: "You're from Earth too?"
"Huh? Is that even a question?" Star-Lord was pointed at Joey and Captain Marvel, the two least human-like figures present, who actually dared to question him: "Compared to you two, who can tear apart battleships with your bare hands and travel faster than light in outer space, what part of me is unlike a human?"
"————" Joey didn't dare to speak. Now that things had come to this, she couldn't bring herself to say that she was a Kryptonian.
Upon closer examination, all three present were nominally from Earth, but in reality, none of them were native Earth species.
But no matter how much they joked around, the two still had to fight. Joey had no choice but to make a "please" gesture: "If you really want to fight, then let's go outside."
Captain Marvel suppressed her displeasure and agreed, "You go first."
Joey took off his glasses, tiptoed up into the space station's artificial gravity environment as if there was no gravity, and passed over the top isolation shield without any hindrance or alarm, just like when Captain Marvel came in earlier.
The Kryptonians' bio-force field, like Captain Marvel's outward energy, can accomplish many things that seem to defy the laws of physics and are unimaginable.
"Then we—"
Joey, having leaped out of the prison space station, turned around, but before he could finish speaking, he saw an ion fist, gleaming with golden flames, hurtling straight towards his face: "I've never seen anyone in such a hurry!"
Surprised, he raised his arm to block, protecting his face, and let the force of Captain Marvel's punch push him further away from the space station.
Captain Marvel followed closely behind, her body swirling with gold and blue energy. A series of rapid-fire attacks unleashed shockwaves that shattered asteroids around them and even caused the distant prison space station to veer off course.
"You're not fighting back because you can't keep up with my speed? If you want the Power Stone, this level is far from enough!"
Captain Marvel unleashed a dazzling display of light with each punch, her barrage of blows never ceasing. Seeing Superman passively defending without retaliating, her mouth never stopped: "Or is this all the person who defeated Galactus is capable of?"
Unlike Earth, which is located in the remote part of the Milky Way, Galactus left behind a legend of near invincibility in this central region rich in civilization. However, Captain Marvel has not yet witnessed it firsthand, so she naturally does not know how strong Superman, who fought Galactus, really is.
pat~
Joey, who had been on the defensive the whole time, finally raised his hand and caught the fist that was hurtling towards him at lightning speed with perfect accuracy: "Was all this random punching just a warm-up? Or is this all you've got?"
Captain Marvel's combo attack, though seemingly fierce, didn't leave a single scratch on Joey.
Joey understood that the other party hadn't gone all out, but hadn't he?
Captain Marvel, whose fists were being held, tried to break free, only to find that Superman's strength far exceeded her expectations. What would be fatal to an ordinary enemy was like throwing a stone into the sea in Superman's hands, with no effect whatsoever.
Joey twisted and spun around, snatching Captain Marvel, who was being held between his hands, away like a hammer.
Captain Marvel's energy radiation intensified as she was thrown backward. She tried her best to counteract the impact of the throw, but still crashed into the half-destroyed Kree battleship due to the enormous inertial momentum.
The battleship, which had just been cut in two by Joey's heat vision, exploded in a series of fires along the trajectory of Captain Marvel as she flew backward.
Boom!
Carroll, having smashed through countless layers of warship decks, leaped upwards, and the seemingly indestructible warship armor beneath his feet instantly turned to dust with a single stomp.
Before becoming Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, a professional Air Force pilot like Hal Jordan from the neighboring universe, was never a good-tempered person.
Having suffered such a small loss, she immediately became a little uneasy. From Joey's perspective, he saw Captain Marvel's energy rising steadily in the distance, almost as inexhaustible as a small sun.
Having confirmed that Superman was not as vulnerable as other humans, Carol finally prepared to get serious.
Using her super vision, she scanned Captain Marvel's body and saw the energy circuits converging from her torso to her hands. Then, she raised her hands towards Joey, and Joey's own heat vision began to charge as well. If Carol's attack was a test, then wasn't Joey's defense just as well?
The probing between the two sides has come to an end; the real first round has just begun.
A golden torrent of photons erupted from Captain Marvel's body through her hands, cleaving the dark, deep space in two, and hurtling towards Joey: "Take this!"
Sensing the approaching energy surge, without Joey even needing to consciously manipulate it, the intensity of his bio-field began to rise rapidly, and the amplified thermal vision emitted evaporated everything around him: "Come on!"
Not only were the two fighters pushing their power and condition to a higher level, but the onlookers outside the battle were also feeling their hearts surge with excitement—"Roar! They're going to clash!"
Rocket, whose head was being held up by Groot and peering through the breach in the prison space station to observe the battle, even pulled back to open a betting pool: "Anyone want to bet on who wins?! I'm betting five hundred dollars on Superman to win! Don't be lazy, lift me up a little higher, Groot!"
Two completely different energy impacts collided without making a sound, yet they emitted a shockwave that made everyone present feel their hearts tremble.
At the point where these two powerful forces converged, slight cracks appeared in the surrounding space, and countless uncontrolled energy ions were spontaneously molten in place, then exploded, illuminating the entire starry sea.
"Ouch, that hurts!" Rocket, who was excitedly staring at the center of the battlefield, preparing to check the final result of this energy blast, was instantly blinded by the sight and immediately covered his eyes in pain: "Quick—fuck me back, Groot!"
"I am Groot!" (You deserve it!)
The reckless Rockets were essentially witnessing a miniature supernova explosion up close with the naked eye. If he weren't not a true raccoon, his eyes and brain would probably be half-cooked by now.
Even with his eyes temporarily closed, Rocket didn't forget to instruct his teammates to check the final result of the energy clash between the two sides: "Quill, it's your turn. Go up and take a look!"
"Haha, are you kidding me!" Star-Lord was laughing so hard he could barely breathe. Seeing Rocket's miserable state, how could he possibly agree? "I'm not going!"
Because a lot of fearless and bored prison guards placed bets on the Rockets, the Rockets were quite dedicated when it came to making money: "Hey bro, I'll take half the cut!"
"Why didn't you say so earlier!" Upon hearing this, what could Star-Lord say? He immediately and resolutely put on his mask, preparing to peek out: "Wait for me!"
Having learned from the previous experience of failing with the Pokémon version of Ultron, Joey's heat vision is still being used more aggressively, and he dares not slack off in the slightest.
More energy surged from the Kryptonian cells within his body, and even the external radiation of the surrounding biofield gradually changed shape, transforming from invisible to manifesting as visible red light waves, much like the energy clouds that circulated around Carol.
In the clash of the two energies, Joey's heat vision gradually gained the upper hand. As the red heat vision slowly eroded the golden photon stream from near to far, the scales of victory began to tip in Superman's favor.
Ultimately, the clash ended with Captain Marvel running out of energy and being unable to sustain it any longer. The golden torrent of photons dissipated without a trace. However, perhaps Joey had exerted too much force, and the remaining heat vision energy failed to dissipate in time, striking Captain Marvel's body at close range.
Captain Marvel, whose energy was nearly depleted, was scorched by the heat vision. After letting out a muffled groan, she was slammed back into the Kree battleship beneath her by the force of the impact.
Star-Lord, who peeked out from the other side, watched the whole thing.
In his opinion, after the tug-of-war between the two beams of light, it was clear who won and who lost. Captain Marvel had most likely been completely defeated in the clash of beams and probably couldn't recover.
He then turned to the people inside the space station and announced the result: "Superman has won!"
Upon witnessing this, Joey exclaimed in alarm, "Oh no!"
His super vision detected an energy response that was far more powerful than that of the previous Captain Marvel.
In the distance, inside the Kree battleship, a figure enveloped in golden and blue flames soared into the sky, heading straight for Superman—it was Captain Marvel in her Binary form.
