Chapter 23 I Don't Understand
Chapter 23 I Don't Understand
After being choked by Lu Mingfei, Finger finally accepted the tragic fact that he had to share a dormitory room with Lu Mingfei.
He even volunteered to take on the important task of cleaning the dormitory, which had absolutely nothing to do with being choked by Lu Mingfei.
"So what happened to my ten jars of wine?"
"Isn't it the Six Altars?"
"What about my photos?!"
"Aww! I almost forgot, it's here!"
Fingel pulled out a bunch of photos. Lu Mingfei selected a few of himself in a JoJo pose, as well as a few photos of Chu Zihang and Caesar with a great angle and a heart filter.
"How so?"
"What do you mean?"
Fingel found Lu Mingfei's sudden statement hard to understand.
Lu Mingfei pointed to those photos.
"I'm the one who hit him, I'm the one who posed, and you took so many photos..."
"Um... six jars of wine?"
"That was for posing, that's a separate matter."
"Hey junior, I have one up—"
"You used the most popular spell from my side against me?"
Fingel was speechless, then stood up with great enthusiasm and slammed his hand on the table.
"Alright! Just for your generosity! 30/70 split!"
Lu Mingfei immediately frowned.
"That's not right of you. Senior, you've been working so hard on this, and you're only taking 30% for yourself?"
Fingel was immediately dumbfounded. He opened his mouth to say, "I'll give it to you..."
"It should at least be split 50/50!"
"Junior, I still have the entire journalism department to support."
Seeing Fingel's worried expression, Lu Mingfei was puzzled.
"Then you should be less greedy—"
Fingel quickly covered his mouth.
"Hey, hey, hey! You can't say that! Walls have ears! Do you know how many people are peering over the wall right now, eager to hear your profound insights?"
So the two continued their negotiations.
"Four or six is the maximum."
"Fifty-five."
"I'll add ten jars of wine!"
"Twenty jars!"
"Fifteen jars!"
"twenty."
"Fifteen really is the most we can do."
Lu Mingfei just smiled without saying a word. Fingel and Lu Mingfei looked at each other for a while, and then Fingel raised his hands in surrender.
"Okay, four or six. Then I'll send you an extra twenty jars of wine, but let me know if you feel like you're getting drunk and want to sleep."
OK.
So Fingel owed Lu Mingfei twenty-six jars of wine. He took out a jar from the corner of the dormitory and gave it to Lu Mingfei as a deposit. Then he watched as Lu Mingfei chugged down a quarter of it in one go.
That jar is three times the size of a regular jar, enough to hold him.
Lu Mingfei was a little scared of what Fingel was drinking.
"Hey junior brother, is it alright for you to drink like this?"
"What are you saying, senior brother? Wine is like an old hero; the more you drink, the more vigorous you become!"
Then Lu Mingfei started chugging again, which startled Finger so much that he quickly pulled out his laptop to distract Lu Mingfei.
"Come here! Look at this!"
"What?"
Lu Mingfei finally put down the wine jar and looked at Fingel's notebook.
"Whose crown of freedom lasts a day? Who defeated both Caesar and Chu Zihang?"
"Why wasn't my feat of taking down the red team and demolishing the black team included?"
Lu Mingfei looked at the words on it, but Fingel just shook his head.
"Long news headlines are no good, and didn't you give all the credit for the bombing to the student council?"
"Oh... because I thought I was going to have to pay compensation."
Lu Mingfei scrolled through his mouse, and then a large photo of his face appeared below, making him look a little uneasy.
"My information? Oh my god! Why is it marked as single? It looks like a personal ad."
"Because this is a marriage advertisement."
Fingel crossed his arms.
"Do you even realize how incredible it was that you pulled off such a daring move, immediately taking down Caesar and Chu Zihang, all with just a two-meter-long steel pipe?"
Lu Mingfei shook his head, and Fingel thought for a moment before speaking.
"You're like a show stallion now, everyone wants to borrow your seed."
"I never expected that this school, which looks so glamorous, would have such a primitive way of life."
"There are ranks here, but normally it's not this primitive. It's mainly because your record is too outrageous, not to mention that the reward for being the number one in Freedom for a day is already quite generous."
Upon hearing this, Lu Mingfei nodded.
"I know about that. What's this about the finals qualification, a one-year usage right for a place, and three months... well, I don't really know."
"It's the right to use Norton Hall for a year, the right to be a finalist in next year's Academy Star competition, and the requirement that the first girl you pursue must maintain a relationship with you for three months."
At this point, Fingel crossed his arms and nodded as he spoke.
"But judging from your performance, the last option shouldn't be necessary. A normal single woman shouldn't reject your advances. So, do you want me to play matchmaker for you?"
"And then you're happy to collect the agency fee?"
Fingel, who was interrupted, smiled awkwardly, and then Lu Mingfei spoke.
"Anyway, I don't need that 'hall' thing. I'm planning to sell it to that blond guy I heard's super rich for drinks. Is that reasonable? By the way, what's that 'Academy Star' thing? Can I sell it?"
Lu Mingfei is very realistic.
"Is there nothing else on your mind besides alcohol?"
"I also want to ride a horse and have a melee weapon, so what is the Academy Star?"
Fingel pinched the bridge of his nose.
"Just think of it as a big show-off competition. But you can only forfeit this qualification, you can't sell it. Even if the organizers allowed you to sell the qualification, no one would be crazy enough to buy this final spot. They would look down on you."
No sooner had he finished speaking than a knock came at the door.
"Knock knock knock!"
Lu Mingfei suddenly looked nervously towards the door.
"I hope some extraordinary woman isn't coming directly through the internet. Go open the door."
Fingel broke out in a cold sweat at the thought that this was a mixed-gender dormitory.
"No! Junior! Since you've said that, how can I dare open the door! How about we go out the window together?"
Lu Mingfei looked outside and saw that the crickets were on the third floor. He could jump down without even breaking a sweat.
"That makes sense! Go through the window!"
"Mingfei! Open the door! It's your Professor Guderian! I've brought you two jars of wine!"
Fingel only felt a gust of wind before the door was opened.
"Oh my! Professor! You just said you'd come! And you even brought a gift? Well then, I'll gladly accept your offer!! Haha."
Lu Mingfei carefully took the two jars of wine and placed them under his bed.
Professor Guderian patted Lu Mingfei on the shoulder with great joy.
"I'm so proud of you, Mingfei! Your name has spread throughout the entire campus today! Truly, who in the world doesn't know you!"
Lu Mingfei patted Guderian on the shoulder with a big smile.
"This is all thanks to your excellent teaching!"
"It feels more like using a radish to dangle a donkey."
Fingel's unfunny remark was met with disdain from Guderian; in short, the old professor pulled an envelope out of his pocket.
"This is your student ID. With it, you can exercise S-level privileges at school. Also, tomorrow is the 3E exam. How's your preparation?"
Lu Mingfei took the envelope and said, "I've never been well-prepared for an exam in my entire life."
But Professor Guderian remained extremely calm, patting Lu Mingfei on the shoulder.
"It's Dragon Pattern, you know Dragon Pattern, right?"
"Why would I know about Longwen?"
"In short, I'll say it once and you'll..."
"Wait a minute!!!!"
Seeing Guderian about to read, Fingel screamed in terror, saying, "I'll go out first, then you can read. I'm afraid he'll kill me."
Then Guderian took two steps back as if he had realized something.
