“Hey, this guy is Z1.” The man said, looking at the data displayed on the screen.
"What?! Headquarters, Headquarters, Z1 has appeared in the Terminator Cave!" The woman immediately initiated communication with headquarters.
Xiao Ruan jumped straight into the pool and closed her eyes to rest. After a dazzling white light, she began to communicate telepathically with the lake.
"This is..." Lin Xi also felt this power and looked deeply at Xiao Ruan.
"Are you all well?" Xiao Ruan asked telepathically.
"It's nothing serious," a small, green-core creature replied from the depths of the mountains, some unknown distance away.
Team Flare also sensed this energy fluctuation.
“I sensed a powerful energy fluctuation emanating from Z1.”
"Z2 is responding to the fluctuations." The subordinate relayed the message back to headquarters.
At headquarters, a man with only a tuft of red hair on his head ordered his men to locate Z2.
"Z2's location has been detected." The subordinate finally found the location on the map where Z2's energy fluctuations were coming from.
"Akobi, Momiji, move out," the other party ordered.
"Understood!" A girl with orange hair and Princess Momi appeared on the big screen and nodded.
"Even legendary Pokémon are this stupid, revealing their location so easily," Akabane remarked. This legendary Pokémon is a bit dim-witted.
“It’s because our detection equipment is too excellent,” Momiji disagreed, but said that times have changed.
"I am unharmed, you all leave quickly." Little Soft continued to send telepathic messages.
A car drove up to the cave entrance, and Bara got out of the car and took out her communicator to report.
"Ugh, you guys are way too late," Claire said impatiently as she stepped out from the side.
Suddenly, several attacks were launched towards the lake, but fortunately, Lin Xi noticed them and used her superpowers to block them.
The group that had previously stolen the soft item were now watching Lin Xi and her group from a high vantage point; it was clear that the attack had been launched by them.
"We meet again. I'm warning you, don't make any sudden moves." Claire looked at Lin Xi and her group below, confident of victory.
Tomoko was speechless. They really were like persistent ghosts. "Pikachu, Thunderbolt!"
Pikachu unleashed a yellow electric current at its opponent, but Dracovish spat out mud to block it.
"Found her." At that moment, one of the subordinates used high-tech goggles to locate Xiao Ruan, pulled out a gun, and opened fire.
After an explosion, Xiao Ruan fell from the stone pillar above.
Little Soft turned and ran into the cave behind her as she saw the group of people in front of her. The Team Flare members continued to attack Little Soft, but Lin Xi's Garchomp blocked their attacks.
"Citron, Serena, Linxi, Maxiu, hurry up and chase after them. I'll take care of things here." Zhizi took on the task of stopping them without hesitation.
"I understand." Citron tugged at his backpack and followed.
"Tomoko, be careful." Lin Xi glanced at Tomoko before chasing after her.
"You all go after them too," Claire ordered her men.
"Don't even think about leaving, Pikachu! Use Iron Tail!" Tomoko shouted to Pikachu.
Pikachu leaped up, its tail flashing white light, and struck the stone pillar above. The pillar shattered and fell, completely blocking the passage through which the group had fled.
"You wretched little brat, do it!" Claire ordered her subordinates.
Ash's subordinates threw out Poké Balls, and numerous Pokémon surrounded him, launching an attack. After a violent explosion, smoke obscured Ash and Pikachu's figures.
"Little girl, I told you not to move. Make those blocking the way glare at me!" Claire said to her subordinates.
It is common knowledge that smoking does not cause harm.
Just as the men aimed their guns at the stone pillars blocking the road, a bolt of lightning flashed from within the smoke, sweeping across the spot where they were standing. A much more violent explosion followed, and the men and Pokémon fell into the crater, unconscious.
Claire looked at the dissipating smoke, and Ash's figure gradually emerged from it, but behind him was another figure that was faintly visible. After the smoke completely dissipated, Greninja's figure was also revealed.
"I told you, as long as I'm here, you won't get through here." As the smoke cleared, Somoko looked at the Team Flare members.
“Damn it, Z1 has escaped, Z1 has escaped,” Claire said, taking out her communicator.
"Received. What bad luck," came the voice from the communicator.
"What are you still doing? We're in the middle of a battle!" Tomoko charged at her opponent on Pidgeot. The opponent's Dracovish quickly crossed its claws and fired an 'X' beam at Charizard, which Pidgeot easily dodged.
Meanwhile, Lin Xi, who was chasing Xiao Ruan, arrived at another cave. Xiao Ruan finally collapsed, unable to withstand her previous injuries.
"Little Ruan, are you alright? Don't run around like that again, okay?" Lin Xi said gently, picking up Little Ruan.
"Gurgle~" Little Soft cried weakly.
"Alright, could you please hand over our Flame Team's valuable research materials?" At this moment, Bala also came out from the runway and looked at Yulijia.
"Oh, you picked the toughest challenge?"
"Your cleaving commander alone isn't enough!"
Lin Xi looked at her with amusement.
"Commander of Cleave, Stoneblade." Bara watched as Lin Xi gave the order to the Commander of Cleave beside her.
Commander Pi Zhan roared to the sky, slamming his right hand into the ground, sending countless stone blades shooting up towards the hastily dodging Yulijia.
"Gyarados, Flamethrower!" A burst of flame blocked the stone blade attack.
"If you don't want to get hurt, just hand it over obediently. Commander Slash, Alloy Claws." Bara gave the order to Commander Slash again.
"Blazing Chicken, Flare Charge!" Lin Xi summoned Blazing Chicken again.
Bisharp leaped up, its right claw flashing with white light, but Blaziken, engulfed in flames, blocked it. The two Pokémon locked in a stalemate in mid-air for a moment before separating.
Bara gave Lin Xi a deep look, "It seems you're no ordinary person!"
Chapter 264 Shota Challenges Tomoko
"Heh, you really think you can beat my Blaziken? Even without Mega Evolution, you're still no match for it," Lin Xi said disdainfully.
My Blaziken is the best in every way!
At the same level, no Pokémon can rival it.
"Let's finish this in one strike, Flamethrower!"
After separating, Blaziken unleashed a fiery red flame at Bisharp, followed by a violent explosion. Bisharp was blasted into a rock pillar behind it and collapsed.
"Alright, surrender now." Although Lin Xi hated the evil organization, the Flame Team members were still hopeless.
"Surrender? I admit your Pokémon are indeed strong, but you're still a long way from capturing my Pokémon." Bara threw a smoke bomb at the group, which exploded in front of them, obscuring their vision with smoke.
"Flame Fox, Flame Breath!" Serena quickly ordered the Flame Fox to attack as she saw it was about to run away.
The Flame-Eared Fox unleashed a burst of flame, but with its vision obscured, hitting the target was impossible; the flame passed straight through the smoke and struck the stone wall above its head.
"Don't think this is the end of it. We will not give up on taking back Z1!"
The other person's voice could be heard through the smoke, but by the time the smoke cleared, they had vanished.
"Damn it, she got away!" Serena looked at the vanished Bara with resentment.
"It's alright, they can't cause any trouble," Lin Xi said dismissively. She figured the judges would be brought in later.
"Thank goodness, you're all alright." At that moment, Tomoko also arrived on Hidden Dragon.
"Yeah, it's okay. Are you alright, Tomoko?" Lin Xi looked at Ash, who had just climbed down from Pidgeot's back, with some concern.
After all, Tomoko was facing a large number of fire team members alone. Although she was a super rookie, she was still his woman, and he should still show her the care she deserved.
"I'm fine. I took care of everyone, but the enemy leader escaped. I only captured some of their men."
Tomoko said in a team fight that Pikachu wouldn't cheat on her.
"They're definitely after Little Softie, saying they're researching materials or something!" Citron looked at the Little Softie on Lin Xi's head, somewhat puzzled.
"I won't hand Xiaoruan over to them," Lin Xi said, pulling Xiaoruan from above her head into her arms.
"Yeah, whatever their purpose is, they don't seem like good people," Ma Xiu nodded.
"Yes, as long as we keep protecting Xiaoruan, we'll eventually find out their purpose. Whatever they want to do, we just need to stop them." Lin Xi wouldn't hand Xiaoruan over.
After all, Gundam is a man's romance; there's a saying that goes, "A man's life ends in his youth."
After hearing this, Xiao Ruan's gaze towards Lin Xi changed.
"It's getting late, let's keep going. That way we should be able to reach the next Pokémon Center before evening."
Upon arriving at the Pokémon Center, Lin Xi and her friends encountered an old friend, Shota.
"It's nice to see you again, Tomoko-senpai." Even after several days apart, Shota greeted Tomoko with the same attitude he would show an idol.
"Yes, yes. It's great to see you again. I didn't expect to run into you here, Shota. I heard from the professor that you went to Shippo City. I thought you'd be there." Tomoko was a little embarrassed by Shota's attitude and quickly changed the subject.
"Ah, actually, I've already obtained the Shippo Gym Badge. I was originally planning to go to Flying Cloud City, but after hearing about Umbreon, I came here instead." With that, Shota took out the badge box and opened it. The Shippo Gym Badge was securely embedded in the groove next to the Triad Badge. The Shippo Badge, also known as the Basic Badge, has a gold frame with brown stripes inside.
"Wow, Shota is amazing! I didn't expect you to get two badges so quickly." Tomoko looked at Shota in surprise. If she remembered correctly, it took her several weeks to get the badges when she was a newbie.
The first badge was earned when fighting Brock, and it took two tries to win the second time. He only managed to win because the Onix was being flooded with water from the fireproof device. The boy in front of him, however, collected two badges in just a few days.
Feeling utterly outmatched in every sense, Tomoko felt like a failure as a novice trainer back then.
