Chapter 120 Divination Class
Chapter 120 Divination Class
Thea sneaked in through the back door of the classroom, and thanks to her popularity at school, no one complained to the professor.
Since the divination class required pairings, Thea decisively chose a little wizard sitting by the door. In fact, she didn't choose one, because everyone else had already found a partner.
After Thea calmed down Daphne and Gella, who were somewhat confused, she began to observe the young wizard who was paired with her.
Lavender Brown, a cheerful Gryffindor girl.
Seeing that the girl seemed a little uncomfortable, Thea extended her hand first, "Dorothea Black, your divination partner!"
Infected by Thea's cheerful demeanor, Lavender readily shook her hand. "I'm Lavender Brown, and it's a pleasure to be your partner!"
Lavender actually recognized Thea when she sat down next to her. This was not surprising; there are always some prominent figures in a school who always shine and overshadow the light of countless others.
Like many female students, Lavender didn't have much affection for this pretty and academically excellent girl. What girl would like a girl who is so much better than her in every way?
But seeing the full marks of preparation in the other person's books, Lavender realized how ignorant she had been. Honestly, she couldn't bring herself to feel jealous, because the other person's excellence was not something easily attained.
Thea didn't talk to Lavender for long because the professor started talking.
Trelawney was very thin, and her glasses magnified her eyes several times over, making her look quite frightening. Her dry, messy hair was haphazardly held back by a headscarf.
In addition, Trelawney wore a robe that had a particularly "charlatan" feel to it, and her slender neck was adorned with countless necklaces and beads that jingled as she walked.
"Welcome to the amazing divination class, but before we begin, I must remind everyone of something."
Trelawney paused at this point, which greatly piqued the students' curiosity.
“If you don’t have ‘vision,’ then there’s very little I can teach you. In this respect, no matter how skilled I am, I can’t teach you anything deeper…”
Next, after Professor Trelawney rambled on about things like "vision" and "talent," she finally got into the classroom.
But after Trelawney had been speaking for a short while, Thea frowned.
Thea had always had the habit of previewing her lessons, and with her excellent memory, she accurately turned to the page the professor was referring to.
Sure enough, apart from a few words being replaced with some mysterious terms, what Professor Trelawney said was basically the same as the content in the textbook.
Thea sighed helplessly, but seeing Lavender's enthusiastic expression, she didn't expose the professor. Instead, she obediently marked the content he was talking about in her textbook.
However, the other party's inconsistent tone, coupled with various feigned mysterious expressions, made it difficult for Thea to accept.
If Thea hadn't known that the other party could truly make prophecies, she wouldn't have had the courage to stay here any longer.
After finally getting through the theoretical part, Trelawney began the practical part.
The lesson was about palmistry, and Professor Trelawney examined each student's palm one by one.
With several students ahead of her, Thea began transcribing her class notes into her notebook. Even though the other student might not assign a paper, it was better to be prepared!
"You, the girl with black hair—"
Thea was engrossed in writing when Trelawney came to her side and said in an ethereal voice, "Reach out your hand, child..."
Thea put down her pen and extended her right hand.
Trelawney took Thea's hand and began to stroke the lines on her palm.
“Hmm…” Trelawney hesitated for a long time before finally managing to squeeze out a sentence, “Child, your destiny will always be in your own hands—”
The young wizards around them were listening intently to the professor's analysis of Thea's palmistry, but they didn't expect that after thinking for so long, the professor could only come up with this common sense statement, so they couldn't help but laugh.
Thea looked at the slender figure in front of her. As someone who knew the other person had real skills, she would not underestimate any of the analyses the other person made.
“Thank you, Professor. I also feel that my destiny will always be in my own hands,” Thea said politely.
The laughter around them gradually subsided because of Thea's attitude.
Seeing this, Trelawney stared at Thea for a few seconds before turning and walking towards the other students.
Then Trelawney predicted Harry's death, which made the young wizards laugh again.
The reason was simple: Trelawney's demeanor and actions did not convince the young wizards.
Harry was already feeling down because of Trelawney's prophecy, but after the professor's palmistry analysis of Thea, he found it hard to believe her prediction.
After everyone's palms had been read, the bell rang to signal the end of get out of class.
Thea took one last look at the strange professor before following the crowd out of the classroom.
Taking advantage of everyone's inattention, Thea once again turned into a classroom, waiting for the "Thea" from other timelines to reunite.
After everything was done, Thea hurriedly headed to the Transformation Classroom.
In the Transfiguration class, Thea once again earned Slytherin five House points.
Thea had one last Defense Against the Dark Arts class in the morning, and she tried her best to stay focused and finish it.
Fortunately, Professor Lupin's first lesson was simply about the Red Hat, a 4X-level magical creature, and how to deal with it.
Finally, he left everyone with a paper assignment and then dismissed the get out of class.
Of course, Thea once again earned Slytherin seven house points.
Unsurprisingly, given how unpredictable the level of Hogwarts' Defense Against the Dark Arts professors is, this year Dumbledore finally managed to find a reasonably competent professor from some obscure corner.
In addition, the other party had a humorous way of speaking and rich practical experience, and quickly won the favor of almost all the young wizards.
If Draco and his friends hadn't wanted to learn the Patronus Charm from him, they would likely have been the most resistant to the ragged professor.
Unfortunately, no if.
After discussing it, Thea and the others decided to take action in the next few days, taking advantage of the fact that the other party was not yet familiar with Hogwarts, and seize the opportunity to get them to agree to their request.
The rhythm of five classes a morning was a bit hard for Thea to get used to. In addition, there was a magical animal protection class in the afternoon. Thea glanced at the carefree little peacock next to her and sighed inwardly again.
