Chapter 293 discusses academic exchange in depth.
Chapter 293 discusses academic exchange in depth.
I really didn't expect that we'd still have so much homework even though we're in seventh grade. My own is okay, though.
I was exempted from homework in a few subjects, and the rest of the homework was done immediately after class.
But Fred and George, who were playful, were different; they all wrote at night.
In the past, when the two of them did things on their own, they would each take half and do half, then exchange them and copy each other's work.
I was watching over you tonight, so I'm writing this a little late.
"Not bad, put it away, then go take a shower." After I finished checking their homework, I told them to go take a shower.
"Great, we're finally finished!" The two optimists were overjoyed and danced with delight.
Watching their bizarre dance, I smiled helplessly.
"Then I'll go take a shower first." Fred quickly took out the pajamas I had prepared for them and rushed straight to the bathroom.
“Ayers isn’t planning to come along,” George said, enticing me with a leisurely pace.
"Is this considered an invitation?" I asked with a smile, sitting on the sofa with my legs crossed.
“Yes, right?” George picked up his pajamas like a fox and headed to the bathroom.
Since they've extended such an invitation, how could I possibly resist the temptation?
Why bother with pajamas? I just stood up and went to the bathroom.
It seemed like they were both ready; the door wasn't even closed.
Next came some particularly beautiful sounds, coming from the bathroom all the way to the bedroom.
I woke up first thing the next morning. I had been bothered by Fred and George all night, and it was only after I had finished dealing with them until they were exhausted that the three of us finally fell asleep.
I was the first to wake up today, and I carefully sat up.
"Ayers, why are you awake so early?" Fred said lazily, having been woken up by my movements.
"Sweetie~ It's not dawn yet, keep sleeping." I rubbed Fred's head and patted his back to soothe him back to sleep.
"Ayers~" George was also woken up by the sound of me and Fred talking.
"It's okay, you can go back to sleep." After reassuring Fred, I gently patted George's back.
After they both fell asleep, I tiptoed to the wardrobe, took out my clothes, put them on, and then went to the bathroom to tidy myself up.
When I came out of the bathroom, Fred and George were still sleeping soundly.
Seeing that they were sleeping so soundly, I didn't wake them. I went to the kitchen, intending to make breakfast before waking them up.
When I finished making breakfast, I saw the two of them come out, still half asleep and wearing haphazardly thrown-on clothes.
I laughed and carried George directly to the sofa to lie down.
Then they carried the other Fred back to the room, changed his clothes, washed his face and brushed his teeth, and put him on the dining table, placing a fragrant breakfast in front of him.
After tidying up Fred, I turned to tidy up George. When I put the tidy George on the dining table, I saw Fred asleep on the table again.
I sighed helplessly. These two really went wild last night, and as a result, they're like soft-bodied animals today.
There's nothing I can do; this is all my own doing. I can only let them sit on either side of me.
I fed them a spoonful of food, and then I fed them a spoonful of food too. Finally, after they finished eating, I wiped their mouths.
Finally, I carried them to class, one in each arm.
Fortunately, they all attended classes with me today, but every professor asked them what happened.
I immediately brought up the fact that I had discussed academic exchanges with them last night, which caused them to not sleep well. The professor heard that it was about studies, so he let them off the hook this time.
When they finally came to their senses, they were still sitting at the dining table in the Always-Know-It-All room.
I'm still making lunch in the kitchen. I didn't take them to the hall or auditorium for lunch today. People who know them will definitely ask them what's wrong with them given their current state.
I didn't want to explain too much, so I just brought them both back to the Room of Requirement.
"Ayers~ Where am I?" Fred, still half asleep, looked around, trying to figure out where he was.
"Hmm~ Fred, where are we?" George was also woken up by Fred, still half asleep.
"You're awake. Go wash your faces, both of you. Lunch is ready." I said softly to Fred and George, who were slumped over the table, as I placed the freshly prepared meal on the table.
"Ayers~ I'm too lazy to move~" Fred said, wrapping his arms around my neck affectionately when he saw me bend down to put down the food.
"Sweetie, go wash your face and wake up." I put my arm around Fred and gently lifted him up.
"Ayers~" Fred rested his head on my shoulder and snuggled up to me like a koala.
To prevent him from falling, I straightened up and supported him.
"Ayers~ What about me?" George watched me supporting Fred the whole time, then tugged at my clothes and asked.
I laughed and squatted down, hugging Fred, while George climbed onto my back like a human pyramid.
I supported them both with my hands, one in front and one behind, and easily led them to the washroom.
I wiped their faces clean to wake them up, and then carried them back to the dining table, one in each arm.
"Ayers, how did we get through the morning? I have no recollection of it at all," Fred asked curiously as soon as he swallowed the food in his mouth.
"I think I heard the professor lecturing." George felt he had a vague recollection of it, but it was all very unclear.
“I told the professor that I would like to discuss ‘academic exchange’ with you tonight.”
I explained to Fred and George with a smile.
When Fred heard me say that, he sprayed the juice he had just drunk onto the side.
George suddenly snapped out of it and stared at me with wide eyes.
"What?" Fred and George really are twins; they speak in sync.
"Don't worry, the professor didn't ask any more questions. You were just sleeping next to me," I said with a smile.
"The professor will only believe what you say." Fred was right; the professor wouldn't believe anyone else.
"I really didn't expect there to be such a benefit. Next time, Ayers, you should tell the professor we're having an academic exchange discussion so we can sleep through class a few more times." George had found a new reason to skip class.
"You're dreaming," I said, chuckling as I pinched George's cheek.
The three of us finished our lunch amidst laughter and playful banter.
In the afternoon, Gryffindor and Slytherin students no longer had classes together, so I had to go back to Slytherin alone and sit there waiting for the professor to arrive.
Now that my past is public knowledge throughout the school, none of the Slytherin students in my year will bother me anymore.
I'm almost becoming the leader of this generation, since none of the children in this family have a higher status or position than me.
After the afternoon classes, I didn't go straight to the hall or auditorium, but instead went to the library.
I was just about to go to the library to look for some new books when I unexpectedly ran into Theodore Nott reading a book here again.
The air in the library was filled with the scent of old parchment and ink. Theodore Nott held an ancient book with a leather cover between his long fingers, and his lowered eyelashes cast small shadows under his eyes.
Hearing footsteps, he looked up, his gray-blue eyes widening slightly when he saw me, before returning to their usual indifference.
"What a coincidence." I lowered my voice and sat down in the empty seat opposite him.
The shadow cast by the bookshelf perfectly divided his profile into two parts, light and dark.
"Have you finished reading the books I gave you last time?" I asked Theodore across from me with a smile, propping my cheek up with my hand.
Theodore closed the book, his fingertips unconsciously tracing the gold-embossed title: "Upon reading the chapter on the cultivation of poison tentacles, I discovered three discrepancies between the records and my classroom notes."
He paused, as if remembering something, and pulled a yellowed parchment from his bag. "You have knowledge of ancient runes? I'm looking for ancient variants of protective spells."
I moved closer to the parchment, and the cool scent of cedarwood emanating from Theodore mingled with the aroma of the paper.
Amidst the densely packed runic symbols, several areas circled in red ink gleamed with an eerie glow.
“This is a concealment spell commonly used by 17th-century dark wizards,” I said, pointing to a distorted symbol, “but the alterations here…”
“It’s like summoning some kind of shadow creature,” Theodore replied, his voice low and deep, like a spell to avoid waking someone from a slumber.
He suddenly pushed the parchment in front of me. "Here are your notes on the remedy you concocted in herbalism class. It can neutralize both wolfsbane and venomous horned beast venom. What's the principle behind it?"
The setting sun outside the window shone through the stained glass, casting dappled light into his eyes.
I noticed that this Slytherin, who always kept to himself, had a childlike curiosity in his eyes at that moment.
When I began explaining the potion recipe, he unconsciously leaned forward, his hair falling down to partially obscure his face, as if he were listening intently to the most precious secret.
Suddenly, the sound of the auditorium bells came from afar.
Theodore leaned back as if waking from a dream, reaching out to tidy his disheveled hair: "I'm sorry to have kept you from having your meal."
He folded the parchment and put it into the book, creating a slight breeze as he stood up. "I have Potions class next week... Could I ask Senior Ayers for my study notes?"
"Of course." I took my notebook out of my backpack and handed it to him.
"Thank you, senior." Theodore regained his usual indifference, but his ears, which were slightly red, betrayed him.
I watched his retreating figure as he walked towards the bookshelf, the setting sun casting a long shadow over him.
Until his black robe disappeared around the corner, the lingering scent of cedarwood on his fingertips still hung in the air, and I gently smelled the parchment filled with riddles.

Hmm~ I can flirt with another one now~ I'm in a pretty good mood~
I happily searched for books I hadn't read before in the library and took them out to browse.
"Ayers, what are you doing here?" I was looking around to see if there were any books I hadn't read yet when a voice suddenly called out to me from behind.
"Huh? It's Harry. Are you here to look for books?" I turned around to look in the direction of the voice. It was Harry.
Harry scratched his head, his emerald eyes glistening beneath his dark hair. "Hermione asked me to borrow the Intermediate Transfiguration Guide. She said my spell gestures are always wrong."
As he approached, his gaze fell on the ancient book in my hand, which was gleaming faintly. "What interesting book have you found this time? The book you recommended last time, 'The Complete Guide to the Habits of Magical Creatures,' has helped us solve a lot of trouble."
I gently closed the book and held it in my hand: "It's a rather interesting book; I'm going to take a look."
Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of the Golden Snitch peeking out from under Harry's cloak and suddenly remembered the Quidditch tournament. "By the way, Harry, aren't you the Quidditch captain of Gryffindor this year? How's your training going?"
Harry's expression instantly turned a little helpless, and he said with a hint of embarrassment, "We found a few new people this year, and even Ron joined Quidditch, but he just froze when he got nervous. Hermione and I tried many methods but couldn't handle it."
Harry sighed and said helplessly.
"Ron's so good at chess, I didn't expect him to be so nervous at Quidditch." I couldn't help but laugh out loud, then quickly composed myself and patted Harry on the shoulder to comfort him. "Maybe we could try taking it slow?"
Harry shook his head with a wry smile: "I tried, but he turns pale as soon as he sits on the broom. Hermione said it's a psychological issue and suggested I take him to the Butterbeer House in Hogsmeade to relax."
He scratched his head in frustration, making his already messy black hair even more disheveled. "The Slytherin tournament is in two weeks. If we can't find a solution..."
Before the words were finished, a suppressed chuckle came from behind the bookshelf.
Harry and I turned our heads at the same time, and saw Fred and George emerge from the shadows, the twins with malicious smiles on their faces, and half of a sizzling sparkler sticking out of their pockets.
"We heard someone needs Quidditch training instruction?" Fred waved the parchment in his hand. "Coincidentally, my brother and I have just developed a 'Courage Amplifier'."
“Absolutely safe, no deception!” George blinked, pulled out a small bottle, the liquid inside shimmering with an eerie bright pink hue. “Just one sip, and Ron will be as unstoppable as a Hungarian wood bee!”
Harry took a half-step back warily: "This isn't another prank, is it? Last time, the 'memory enhancer' you gave Neville made him sing 'The Cauldron Song' to the Fat Lady all night long."
“That was just a minor deviation in the experiment!” Fred exclaimed, clutching his chest dramatically. “This potion has been improved! Let Ayers try it—after all, he’s an ‘authority figure’ in Slytherin.”
I stared at the bubbling liquid in the bottle.
"Oh~ Are you sure you want me to drink this for you to test the drug on?" I smiled at Fred and George.
